Committee Descriptions


BUDGET & FINANCE   (return to top)

The mission of the Budget and Finance Committee is to:

  1. Develop an operating budget for approval by the CPCA Board of Directors.
  2. Ensure that the dispersement of the association's financial resources are in line with the approved operating budget.
  3. Report on the financial position versus the operating budget at the meetings of the Officers, Directors and Committees.
  4. Review the Annual Auditor's Report with the Associations' Treasurer and present their findings to the Officers, Directors and Committees.

BY-LAWS   (return to top)

The mission of the By-Laws Committee is to:

  1. To review the By-laws quarterly, making certain the Officers and Board of Directors remain aware of amendments necessary to honor any action by the Board.
  2. Recommend to the Board any changes the By-Laws committee deems to be necessary, an improvement, or contrary to the proposals of Chicago Paint and Coatings Association Board of Directors.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS   (return to top)

The mission of the By-Laws Committee is to:

  1. Represent the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association in the Chicagoland area and to do those things that are for the good of the Industry and Community.
  2. Support individuals and groups within our community who are committed to making a positive contribution with their time and resources and to gain recognition for our membership and industry. This support will be manifested through paint donations from the Association's paint bank and member involvement in community service.

DIRECTORY & BUYER'S GUIDE   (return to top)

The Directory and Buyers' Guide committee is dedicated to supplying the membership of the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association with a comprehensive tool to assist and advance our industry. This is to be accomplished through the cooperation and support of our members and associates.


EDUCATION   (return to top)

The mission of the Education Committee is to:

  1. Provide pertinent education courses with the Chicago Society for Coatings Technology, through the Joint Education Program; i.e. "A Course in Coatings Technology"
  2. Initiate independent programming of seminars and lectures solely by the CPCA Education Committee for the CPCA membership.
  3. Provide scholarships annually at $2,000.00 each for the CPCA and CSCT member's children who attend or will be attending a college/university as a full time student. These scholarships will be given through a lottery system during the April CSCT dinner meeting.

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS   (return to top)

The mission of the Industrial Relations Committee is to provide pertinent information to members relating to certain operational and human relations issues affecting the local paint industry.


LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY   (return to top)

The mission of the Legislative & Regulatory Committee is to:

    1. Ensuring that public policies and programs are mutually beneficial to the affected citizens and the paint and coatings industry by providing information and service.
    2. Gaining acceptance and understanding of the objectives and beneficial contributions of the paint and coatings industry.

MEMBERSHIP   (return to top)

The mission of the Membership Committee is to:

  1. To identify all existing potential members of the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association.
  2. To recruit those so identified into active membership.
  3. To retain members in the Association by encouraging the use of education, networking and services that allow our members to obtain a competitive edge.

PLANNING & POLICY   (return to top)

The members of the Planning and Policy committee are all past presidents of the Chicago Paint and Coatings Association.

Our mission is to serve as the Association's resource to the current Officers, Board Members and Committee Chairpersons.

Our purpose is to address long range goals of the Association and to assist the Board of Directors in the continuation of quality services to the membership.


PROGRAM   (return to top)

The mission of the Program Committee is to provide the membership with opportunities to develop themselves professionally as well as personally by planning meetings and functions to enhance business relationships. In addition, these meetings provide a forum in which information is distributed to the industry regarding legislative and regulatory issues. We will strive to provide an adequate schedule of events to fully inform all members of pertinent topics relative to their own jobs as well as the overall direction of the industry.


PUBLICITY   (return to top)

The mission of the Publicity Committee is to increase the image and awareness of our Association and its activities between the various publics with which we interact. These include, but are not limited to, member companies, individual members, association committees and officers, local press and trade journals, and other industry organizations. Vehicles utilized include Brush & Spray newsletters, "Chicago's Finest Painted Ladies" competition, and other timely topical communicae.

Coatings Care
